A Premonition

A  Premonition
In the near future, an era of humanoid
Where feelings and sanity are devoid
Behind the walls & in dark depths humans hide
Their own creations look at them with snide

Machines created to act as beasts of burden
Turned against the humans all of a sudden
In the wake of that hour, humans did realize
That it was a folly, now no way to neutralize

Humans never knew, the sword they had built
Will be pointed at them, robots holding the hilt
The artificial intelligence that humans empowered them with
Even changed the fact that ‘humans created them’ into myth

The machines were too powerful for an open war
So humans decided to take them down from far
An elite team of men was formed to hunt
But against the enemy’s strength, their weapons went blunt

With all the might of men, it still was a feeble attempt
In the end, all they got was remorse and repent
Even the wise and the brave stood aghast
Against the fury of machines no one could last

Hopes were low, faiths almost lost
Water froze & leaves were covered with frost
Once a part of great civilization were now nomadic
The great cities that once stood turned into relic

As the whole mankind succumbed to dysphoria
Machines recklessly ruled on earth in euphoria
Power was the only thing that machines yearned more
To suffice their needs, earth was drilled to core

Even the nature was cross & sun never rose
Earth was dystopic & the end seemed so close
Blinded by progress & for more comforts sake
Humans thus had committed their greatest mistake
