Concerning the Hobbit who faced the Dragon

Image
The tide was high it reached for sky The waves charged in upon the shore They swept and crept beneath the sand The sea stared back to ruin the land The thief of stealth was lost in wealth He had in mind a stone to find To search the stone he slid more deep Only to wake a dragon asleep The silence broke and from slumber it woke The time had come for the long sleep to end The earth shook beneath when dragon took a breath It breathed out fire and then came out smoke It found the thief who had a promise to keep When he  realized  his folly he tried to hide But dragon’s sense more powerful than any fence It caught the thief before he could leap The thief tiny and small, the dragon mighty and tall It was no match; Dragon had found its catch He stood aghast he was found at last He closed his eyes to feel the fiery blast The dragon stood in a magnanimous stance The Hobbit knew he had no chance To find the stone that shone star light
