What will they do?


Are the lights out
Or are they all shut
Will they come out
When they hear the shout

Is none awake
Or do they just pretend
Will they wake up
By the smell of the  tea cup

Has the rose bed
Become too comfortable
Will they now know -
Soon the thorns will grow

Are the windows jammed
Or are they closed from inside
Will they finally break the glass
To come out and form a mass

Has the fear trickled down
Too deep inside
That now they shun the truth
And embrace the lie

Is the strength lost
Or is there no courage
Will they continue to hide
And in this immoral world they abide

Are the voices too weak
Or are they all deaf
Will they ever listen
When their loved one's will cry

Is the injustice not seen
Or are they all blind
Will they just turn away
Without even trying to play

Is the soul dead
Or it does not exist
Will they ever fight
For their own right ?

The dictionary defines gambler as a person who is willing to take the risk in hope of a desired result. A risk-taker is a gambler. A gambler doesn't necessarily meet success every time. Loss is always expected; the undesired result. It was sometime during the month of May, summer vacations were on but Sainik school had called back its pupils for early onset of classes. The campus was empty except for the final year batch. The city of Bijapur bathed in the intense heat of blazing sun. Devouring of the Moon

It was night, not particularly dark. One could say it was a grey night, definitely not a black night.  The crescent moon provided ample moonlight and the twinkling stars canvassed the night sky.  Darkness was further dispelled by rebounded street lights from afar. It was like any other night, nothing particularly charming or mysterious about it.  Hameed was lying on his back in the sand. He had just finished his supper that his mom had prepared. It was a everyday supper. Naan bread, lamb curry and lemon pickles. He lay there  looking at the crescent moon that appeared like it was hinged on some invisible cosmic thread.  In fact, he wasn't paying much attention to it.
