The Difference

People here live in cages
They are surrounded by walls
They peep out through their windows
Their doors are always locked.

They always keep an eye open
An eye of suspicion!
Their hearts are filled with doubts
Their expressions are so confusing
Their minds are always presuming.

They try to build a shelter
A protective shell for their family
In truth a hiding place for their wealth
They try to keep it safe
From preying eyes of this world

People here live in cages
They are surrounded by walls
Their windows are always shut
Their gates are always locked.

But people who live on daily wages
Are surrounded by their neighbours
Their homes don’t have doors
Earth is their floor, their ceilings have holes.

They don’t try to build a house
They carry with them their homes
Their wealth is in their heart
For that they don't need a vault

They don’t have a place of their own
But you’re always welcome to their home
They don’t peep out through their windows
They just come out of their homes.

The poor live on this planet
The rich spend their life in cage
A cage that they have built for themselves
A place for them to hide
The poor walk barefooted on the other side
