Paramedic’s Panorama In a white van with a red light The call of duty beckons even at night I have seen the pain; I have seen the loss I have seen the dead lying gross A cracked skull; a punched nose I can sense the death when it’s close A broken jaw; a split ear I know when it will take long to repair War, accidents and flood I have seen everywhere blood The sight of it has grown in my head Now I see everywhere red Dislocated bones; punctured vessels I have fixed them all, fixed them same Snapped fingers; swerved toes The cry of young and old, I have heard the same A gashed belly, a slit throat At times, I have saved them both A strike to brain, a bullet through heart Death has style and it loves art Killers of pain, unconsciousness dose Morphine injected and quickly pain goes Sedatives, paralytics I keep all kind Stitch in times saves nine, knows my mind To always try my best, I have taken the oath Life and death, I ...

Draupadi's Lament

Image
I pray to thee, oh! My dear lord! Please save me from this fraud Strength of my men is lost Their hearts are now sealed in frost They now stand head held low Shattered by Shakuni’s blow Couldn’t they see the deceit? Couldn’t they decide to forfeit? Look, what the desire has cost My honor is about to be lost Oh! My dear lord, I only have you Save me soon, minutes are few Mighty Bhim can’t move an inch While, to my garb I desperately clinch Arjun’s aim is no more the same Yudhisthir failed in an unfair game Oh! My dear lord my strength is weak I pray to thee, save this meek I am being stripped in front of all Crowd is pleased watching Pandava’s fall Now, I have very less to hide In shame five men watch plight of their bride Oh! My dear lord, I can no more wait Come save me before it’s too late This is a horrendous crime Repercussions will be soon seen in time My men will prepare to retaliate In their anger Kaurava’s kingd...

A Tale of Truth

Image
A murder in cold blood An act of extreme violence Everyone stood still and watched A man dying in complete silence The murdere looked around The victim lay motionless on the ground His eyes showed no remorse nor fear He didn’t care if this act could bring smear His hand held a scimitar dripping blood The dead body had none to enshroud He walked through crowd, not in haste The dripping blood was all he wanted to taste Everyone stood still, head held low Except a child who didn’t lower his gaze His fists tightened, his eyes glowed with anger People around him held him from moving any longer When the murderer left People came together and wept Some came ahead and buried the dead Everyone retreated to save their own head Storm and rain embrace the night The child awake remembering the dreadful sight He wondered why none came ahead to stop The terrible crime committed in daylight The sheriff’s came but everyone kept quiet ...

The Gambler's Night

Image
The dictionary defines gambler as a person who is willing to take the risk in hope of a desired result. A risk-taker is a gambler. A gambler doesn't necessarily meet success every time. Loss is always expected; the undesired result. It was sometime during the month of May, summer vacations were on but Sainik school had called back its pupils for early onset of classes. The campus was empty except for the final year batch. The city of Bijapur bathed in the intense heat of blazing sun. The air near the surface of earth was so hot that it often resulted in mirages on the black velvety asphalt road. The days were hot; the nights brought relief with occasional rains and cool breeze. It was not an ordinary night. It was raining hard and fast and it made a rhythmic sound as it splashed on the window panes. Mike and Saty were in no mood to study, they were sitting near the window and discussing about the smallest route that they could take in this rain to reach Reshma’...

The Story of Chindi Chor

Image
This blog is written to let you all know about the story behind the concept of “Chindi Chor". Chindi Chor is one who eats all the low budget snacks usually present in mobile stores or small Kirana shops present in the narrow streets of an underdeveloped town. These snacks usually consist of nuts (vatani) which come in various colours like red, green & yellow. I even don't know the English names of these snacks so let me put there Desi(Indian, more specifically North Karnataka) names: Papdi, Kurbaani(Habib brand), Maharaja Badaang, Chakli etc. These usually came at a price of 1 to 2 Rupees when Chindi Chor(The main protagonist of this article) first started eating them. At present their costs have risen up to 5 Rs. Did you all know why he fell in love with such products and ended up practically endorsing them and being their brand ambassador? Well, let me tell you how it began and how it became his obsession and how still he continues to eat them whenever and wherev...
